LUREDERRA, FUNDACIÓN PARA EL DESARROLLO TECNOLÓGICO Y SOCIAL

Lurederra Technology Centre is a private non-profit foundation established in June 1999 by a group of nine private companies and currently works with more than thirty independent member organizations. The center conducts and promotes applied technological R&D activities in the fields of nanotechnology, advanced materials and advanced environmental technologies, supporting companies and economic stakeholders at both national and international level. Its activities also extend to the implementation of the innovations developed in industrial production environments.

Recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation as Technology Centre No. 98, Lurederra has developed a strong connection with the industrial sector. To date, the center has carried out more than 420 large-scale industrial R&D projects, both nationally and internationally, many of them within European R&D Framework Programs. Lurederra’s research and technological development activities focus on the development and application of nanotechnology, advanced materials and environmental technologies.

The Nanotechnology Department at Lurederra has extensive experience in the manufacture of advanced materials, including catalysts for a wide range of processes. Its expertise includes, for example, the development of complex perovskite structures combining up to four different cations in precisely controlled compositions. A key technology behind these capabilities is Lurederra’s proprietary Flame Spray Pyrolysis (FSP) process for nanoparticle production, which combines considerable compositional versatility with high scalability. The center also has additional material synthesis and processing capabilities, including wet-chemical routes and advanced milling technologies.

Since 2017, Lurederra has also been actively involved in the preparation, dispersion and deposition of nanomaterials for green fuel production, particularly for the conversion of CO₂ into methane and hydrocarbons through photocatalytic and thermocatalytic processes.

Within COMECOCO2, Lurederra focuses on the synthesis, characterization and functionalization of nanoparticulate materials for the development of functional layers used in the co-electrolysis system. Its expertise in advanced nanoparticle synthesis and surface functionalization supports the development of tailored materials and coatings designed to improve the performance and durability of the components at the heart of the co-SOEC technology.
